- Internet Journalism Seminar: Course Review at Kangwon National University.
Hey Campers! Welcome back to another review from Kangwon National University! Today's episode is especially dedicated to class reviews and I'll be sharing information about my favorite class which I took as a freshmen in Media Communication Graduate School.
As per the title, this course is called 'Internet Journalism Seminar' and is conducted by professor Hong SeongGu (홍성구). Unfortunately, this class is entirely in Korean. However, as graduate students, we're exempt from taking exams and are only required to do three assignments throughout the semester; a research proposal during midterms, a final paper concerning the research proposal and a presentation about the assigned textbook chapters by the end. The textbook for this class is 'Post-Truth' by Lee McIntyre and I recommend getting the original English copy and Korean one too.
I am probably biased towards this course as I took it when I was first being introduced to Social Science after switching from Natural Sciences. The class has the term 'Journalism' in its title but it goes beyond the notions of that fields and its theories. It touches on various foundational concepts in social science and significant scholars.
