- Unlocking Strategic Communication: Graduate Course Reviews from Utah Asia Campus
Exploring COMM-6950, COMM-7001, and COMM-7370
At Utah Asia Campus in Songdo, Incheon, I had the opportunity to experience three unique courses that redefined my understanding of communication. From delving into international public relations to mastering quantitative research, each course brought valuable lessons to the table. Additionally, the courses spanned two locations—Songdo, Incheon and Gangnam, Seoul—making for a dynamic academic experience. Here's an overview of my journey through COMM-6950, COMM-7001, and COMM-7370.

This course immersed us in the complexities of international advertising and public relations. It explored global PR strategies, crisis communication, and the nuances of cross-cultural communication. The interactive lectures and case studies, such as the analysis of global campaigns like Dove’s “Real Beauty,” honed our ability to develop and adapt strategies for diverse markets. Despite the commute to Gangnam, the engaging content and practical applications made it worth the effort. The final project—a research proposal or PR program—was a challenging yet rewarding culmination. If you're keen on international PR and crisis management, this course is a must.
