Christmas is a magical time of the year filled with joy and miracles to connect with loved ones, but what do you do when you are far from home? Despite a significant portion of Korea's population is Christian, Christmas has become a celebration that is widely enjoyed by people of all backgrounds. Whether you're missing family or simply looking to make the most of the holiday season, there are plenty of ways to embrace the spirit of Christmas in Korea.

Visit Christmas Markets

One of the best ways to immerse yourself in the holiday atmosphere is by visiting Christmas markets. These markets are filled with festive decorations, unique handcrafted goods, and delicious seasonal treats.

You can find European traditional cuisine and festive activities that bring a special touch to the season. I personally follow the Seoul Global Center's events, but you can also discover markets and fairs by checking the official tourism websites or embassy pages. At the European Christmas Market hosted by Seoul Global Center, I enjoyed authentic mulled wine and hot chocolate, savoring the winter warmth. The bagpipes performance gave a feeling that I wasn't in Korea at all, and overall I was impressed by the market's organization.
