As a Uni Student living abroad myself, the wallet always stays thin. Thankfully, this has not (..yet...) hindered me from eating generous portions, and I'm proud to say I've collected several budget restaurant gems around Inha University, that won't leave you hungry!

1. 🥩 Charcoal Grill Meokbang

This place is actually a meat-grill restaurant, but I honestly go here more for their Bossam (보쌈; Korean Boiled Pork)! They’re delicate pork slices, and you can dip ‘em with Gochujang sauce and a refreshing lettuce wrap– they give you a bowl of hearty rice & kimchi jjigae as well– all for only 7,000 won!

One thing to note is that you unfortunately can't order this for 1 person only :”) It’s a minimum 2-people order!

They also seem to have take-out Bibimbap & Chueok Dosirak (Lunch Box) at 6,000 & 5,000 Won, but I've never personally tried them~

Their main dish is actually their Grilled Meat, which they also sell for such a good price! It costs 13,900 won for Unlimited Refill on Meat ^^

2. 🍝 Rolling Pasta / or / Mi Sikdang

Rolling Pasta is quite a well-known place, and it’s conveniently located right across the street from the backgate. On the other hand, Mi Sikdang seems to be not-so-much known to foreign students. They’re both pasta restaurants at roughly the same prices, and they both taste pretty good!

3. 🍜 Inha Kalguksu

This Kalguksu (칼국수; Knife-cut Noodles) Restaurant is one that I introduce to people all the time– and it’s solely due to their Ojingo Jeon (오징어 전).

Ojingo Jeon!
Ojingo Jeon!

Ojingo Jeon is basically Korean fried pancakes (Jeon), with added Squid (Ojingo). This place is hands-down, the best Jeon I’ve ever tasted in Korea so far; Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside– It’s savoury, it’s salty, it’s everything I want it to be.

Sounds dramatic but I truly fell in love with the comfy flavors of this place– and also, their portions are huge! (I truly recommend :>)

This is a 2-people portion of Kalguksu, but it is huuuge! They also serve Barley Rice (Bori Bab) and various other side dishes for free~
