About Ewha Womans University
Ewha Womans University was founded in 1886 as Korea’s first institution offering higher education for women. The school was Korea’s first university to receive government accreditation in 1946. The school is currently well known for its college of education and English language and literature major.

Ewha Womans University is one of the three universities along with Yonsei University and Sogang University that is located near Sinchon, western Seoul. The area is known as a vibrant area where many students like to gather, home to many affordable restaurants, cafes and affordable student housing. Ewha is a Christian university found by missionaries and requires all students to attend Chapel for eight semesters to graduate. It is a women's university, although men are allowed to attend it's Language Center courses.
