Coupang Play's reality game show “University War” ended with Seoul National University winning the title of the smartest university.

The finals, released on Friday, pitted Seoul National against Korea University.

“University War” started with five teams from Seoul National University, KAIST, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Yonsei University and Korea University going against each other in challenges that tested their intelligence. A team of Harvard University students joined in the third episode.

The final match consisted of three rounds, with the Seoul National University team winning the first and third to become the final winner.

In the first round, students had to memorize four-digit codes for 28 locks. Opening them unlocked cards with numbers and mathematical symbols, which participants used to make designated target numbers.

In the second round, competitors raced each other on a life-size game board, avoiding obstacles. In the third round, students competed against each other to find designated patterns in a bigger picture consisting of multiple patterns.

“Seeing the participants try their best at the games reminded us of the passion we forgot we had,” said Heo Beom-hun, the show's producer. “They all approached the games with different tactics, and that's like how we also try to solve problems in our daily lives.”

“I think viewers found those aspects most interesting.”
