Musicals are a grand fusion of singing, dancing and acting — arguably the ultimate form of entertainment. However, their only downside is the extravagant cost. Even some little-known musicals often start at 70,000 won to 90,000 won, making them less accessible compared to other forms of entertainment.

But don’t let the price tags deter you, especially if you are a university student.

With the strategies I am about to introduce, you can enjoy musicals at a fraction of the cost.

1.   Take Advantage of Production Company Discounts

It’s rare for musical-goers to pay full price for tickets, as production companies typically offer extensive choice of discounts ranging between 10 to 30 percent.

Some of these promotions are specifically targeted at university students, though they are less common than discounts for teenagers.

Discount information can be found at ticketing platforms, such as Yes24 and Interpark, as well as at production companies’ social media accounts.

Carefully review the available discount options to ensure you don’t miss out on deals.

Musical Laundry at Interpark Uni Flex in Jongno District, western Seoul, is currently offering a 30 percent discount on college students, as well as junior high and high school students.

2.   Use Uniket

Unkiet is a discount platform designed only for university students.
