When I first moved to Korea, I was so confident that I can get through it without any difficulties. I have learned the language for about a year, i mastered the basics, there's nothing holding me back. Until i landed. The only thing that i had in mind was "where is the subtitle?". Everybody speaks too fast that i couln't catch any of their words beside of the "입니다" or "...요" ending.

I got myself into awkward situation a few times, to be honest. From getting myself panicked when i made bank account, to the small little things such as buying something in convenience store. Believe me or not, i have ever asked for convenience store's finger (손가락) instead of asking for spoon (숟가락). The horror of his face still made me laugh until this day if i remember that moment.

"this is not going to be easy....."

That's what i told myself at that time. Come on, I struggled even just to buy a cup of ramyeon. How am i going to have fun? Not even having fun, just barely surviving is literally my own goal at that time.

Plot twist, it's more than half a decade that i lived in here, i will still not call myself fluent in Korean. But at least, i survived. I know how to have fun, finding my essentials, and get to know new hobbies.
