Established in 1980, Daejeon University is a private comprehensive university located in the metropolitan city of Daejeon, which promotes itself as a city of science and technology. The university, known for its Korean oriental medicine course, runs three oriental medicine hospitals in Daejeon, Cheonan, South Chungcheong and Seoul. In 2022, the university had 530 foreign students, with 338 from Vietnam and 126 from China. Daejeon Station is an hour from Seoul Station by KTX bullet train.
