About Hannam University
Hannam University (HNU) is a private university founded initially as a Christian academy in 1956. It was reformed and officially turned into a university in 1985 and changed its name to the current title. Due to its history, Christianity still penetrates the campus — for example, the oldest building of the school is Linton Academy which was named after the first president of the school, a missionary active in the 1950s.

Hannam University is the most prestigious comprehensive university in Daejeon. There are two campuses, both in Daejeon but in different districts. The main campus, Ojeong Campus, is around 20 minutes by shuttle bus from the global Daedeok Valley Campus in Yuseong District. The main campus focuses on the College of Language and Liberal Arts, while the global campus is home to the College of Bio and Nano Science. This campus also holds a technology research complex. With the school first established by Western missionaries, Hannam University is proud of its religious background and global mindset, with English programs having been taught at the school for almost 20 years.
