About Seoul National University
Seoul National University (SNU), founded in 1946, is one of the most prestigious universities in Korea. While the S.K.Y. universities have famously been known as the top universities in Korea — S stands for Seoul National University, K for Korea University and Y for Yonsei University.

SNU has been the one to top the JoongAng Ilbo college rankings for seven straight years up to 2022, although the ranking does exclude specialized institutions like the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Pohang University of Science and Technology. SNU became even more famous after appearing in multiple Korean dramas and movies. Most recently, one of main characters in the Netflix hit "Squid Game"(2021) was described as having graduated from SNU. The school is located in Gwanak Distrcit, southern Seoul, relatively close to Seoul’s downtown Gangnam area.
