About Seoul Women’s University
Seoul Women’s University, founded in 1961 by the Presbyterian Church of Korea, is a mission school located in Nowon District, northern Seoul. While the university, like most other Korean universities with religious backgrounds, does not require or force students to change their religion, all undergraduate students must take part in the Bahrom Character Education course, a mandatory program where students are expected to learn about the university and become a part of the SWU community by living at the Bahrom Center for three weeks during their first year and by undertaking a 15-week team project in their third and fourth year. The program also aims to help build each student’s potential by actively engaging with current issues in our society.
