The following are general Q&As about the Global Intern for Startups program and questions for each startups that were asked during the company briefing session.

General FAQs
Q) Are the internships paid?
Internships under the Global Intern for Startups program are all paid internships, with all of them ensuring at least minimum wage. Apart from the minimum wage requirement, specific salaries for each startup can be different, and need to be discussed with each startup.
Q) Will there be a full-time return offer after the internship?
There are two employment types under the Global Intern for Startups program. Type A internships have a two-month contract period, with interns working over the winter break. Type B internships have a contract of at least three months or more, and startups can offer them a full-time employee position if the interns have satisfactory performance.
You will be able to see whether the position is a Type A internship or a Type B internship in the original job description on the K-campus Careers section. If a job listing says the company is hiring interns as both Type A and Type B, this means that contract periods – whether it’s a short-term two-month internship or a long-term one – can be negotiated with the startup.
Q) How and when can I know if I get chosen for an interview?
Recruitment schedules will differ by startup, and it is best to ask each startup you have applied for. Please note that applications have been sent to the startups this week, and results may take some time.
Applications have been accepted via K-campus, but announcement of successful candidates, those who pass the interview, etc, will all be done on the startups’ side, so we advise you to keep an eye on your inboxes!

Q) You mentioned in the presentation that your company is looking for highly intelligent individuals. Is there a specific background you are looking for in applicants?
We wrote it that way so that we don’t emphasize any fields. You can pretty much understand that we hire in any position possible, because we need people who are best oriented in multiple fields we deal with.
Q) You said you were looking for people that are available to work for 12 months or more. Is that 12 months as an intern, or with a full-time position later?
We would like to put it like this. If you are good, we will do anything to hire you and keep you with the company.

Q) When you say the company prefers people who are not disqualified from overseas travel, is having a stronger passport important in that sense?
It is important. We plan to engage in global activities around the world, maybe in the United States and other countries.

Q) Is the company also looking for engineers by any chance? Or is it mostly looking for a market strategy and research intern?
Our first priority is the market strategy and research intern, but we are also open for engineers in the AI field.
Q) How long will the internship period be? Will there be additional offers?
We aim to have interns work with us not just for the short term during the vacation period. If you can work with us longer and are considered good, we are also looking for a full-time offer.
JMWave

The position isn’t only open to Southeast Asian nationals, but open to everyone.
Q) The company is looking for a business strategy intern, and is it necessary to major in a specific field?
It doesn’t matter. You can apply to our company regardless of your major.

Q) Since the company is looking for a localization intern, what level of Korean fluency is the company looking for, and how significant is that in the hiring process?
For us, we require you to speak a decent amount of Korean, so that would be equivalent to a TOPIK level 4 or 5. You don’t have to be very fluent, just fluent enough to be able to pitch in your ideas. We do have outstanding and helpful members that are fluent in Korean and English, so they will also be able to help out on additional translation support. So at least a TOPIK level 4, or maybe at least a TOPIK level 3.
