Interning at K-campus as you saw in my previous post also means I get the chance to work with the Celeb Confirmed team, as we are all part of the digital team at the Korea JoongAng Daily!

For those who might not know, Celeb Confirmed is an English-language platform, created by the Korea JoongAng Daily. It covers K-pop news and produces content to connect fans with their favourite stars!

On this day, I was assigned to assist with filming one of the FanTalk episodes.

6:30 a.m.: I recently moved to Hongdae temporarily, which is closer to the office but today I needed to wake up slightly earlier to arrive before 9 a.m.

7:30 a.m.: I take 2 buses to reach the JoongAng Daily office, in Mapo-gu’s Digital Media City, which is where you can find the offices of South Korea’s major media and broadcasting companies.

8:30 a.m.: I grab a coffee from the café in the office lobby and head upstairs to help pack the equipment needed for the filming.

8:40 a.m.: Our ride arrives, and we start loading the boxes and bags into the car before heading to the filming studio.

9:00 a.m.: At the studio, we unload our gear and start moving furniture and decorations around to prepare the set. As my colleagues set up the cameras and lighting, I was briefed on my role and responsibilities. I was tasked with operating a camera and ensuring that the microphone was effectively capturing the voice of one of the group members. I felt a little stressed initially as it sounded like a huge responsibility, but the show's producer, whom we call PD-nim, reassured me that everything would be fine and that the team would be there to assist if I needed help.

10:30 a.m.: The artists arrive at the studio! This week’s guests were a rookie boy group who greeted us cheerfully with great enthusiasm. It was my first time seeing idols up this close!

11:00 a.m.: Recording for the first episode is about to begin and I take a seat behind my designated camera, feeling a little nervous. I double-check that the member’s microphone was working well and what I had to capture was in frame before hitting the record button when PD-nim gave the cue.
