- staying warm and cozy during winter as a malaysian ❄️🥶
A few weeks ago, my mom called me out of the blue and asked me: "How do Korean cats survive winter?" We went through a few possibilities and they ranged from biological evolution to maybe cats buying puffer jackets for themselves (question mark?)
Anyhow, the mystery got resolved when one of my friends told me that apparently Korean cats grow tons of fur when winter comes to stay warm.
So, as someone from a tropical country, here are some tips and tricks to "grow fur" like how Korean cats do, to keep yourself warm during the cold winter nights in Korea.
The Basics

Everyone knows this. The only way to survive Korean winters is to get yourself a "padding" (패딩), a.k.a. puffer jacket.
Personally, I prefer short "padding"s, because they're less bulky, but it is true that the long ones are better at shielding you from the cold.
Another thing that you should pay attention to while purchasing a puffer jacket, is the materials. Usually, duck down (or any other down) is best at keeping you insulated. Whereas synthetic material (like polyester) is less effective, though oftentimes cheaper!
Layering

Layering
Uniqlo's Heattech series is definitely a lifesaver. So Heattech is one of the many different versions of thermal clothing that you can get on the market. Wearing thermals as a base layer helps to trap the moisture from your body and minimizes evaporative cooling, thus keeping you dry and warm in cold weather.
