What began as a small platform providing information for students interested in pursuing graduate studies at Korean universities has now grown into the largest platform of its kind in Korea, with approximately 300,000 members and about 600,000 monthly active users (MAU). &nbsp;

2. Company vision and mission&nbsp;&nbsp;

It is preparing to launch a project in Japan, connecting Japanese students who want to pursue graduate studies in Korea with Korean universities.

Additionally, it is expanding its services beyond domestic graduate school admissions to include study abroad programs, job placement and other career-related services for both undergraduate and graduate students.

So far, it has focused on bringing together all entities involved in research and development (R&amp;D) through "phdkim.” Now, it aims to connect these entities through various methods to create new business opportunities.

"Phdkim," the major service of Palusomni, is well-established in Korea, particularly among undergraduates, graduates, and professors in STEM fields — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Palusomni also operates a study abroad admission support service, which is the largest U.S. graduate school education service in Korea, boasting an acceptance rate of more than 80 percent for U.S. graduate schools.

TOONSQUARE was founded as a Samsung in-house venture and spun off as a startup in 2019. The company is a technology and content startup specializing in generative AI and offering various webtoon-related services.&nbsp;

The joy experienced by only 1 percent of artists can now be enjoyed by 99 percent of people.

The webtoon industry is known for being labor-intensive, with webtoon artists sometimes working more than 60 hours a week. While generative AI presents a new and challenging area for artists, TOONSQUARE provides solutions that enable artists to easily and effectively use generative AI to develop and create webtoons.

TOONSQUARE’s goal is to make the tedious and repetitive aspects of webtoon and web novel production more efficient and faster.

TOONSQUARE is committed to discovering and training AI creators for the upcoming era of AI. On Tooning.io, the company offers four services to help artists easily create webtoons. Through Tooning GPT, users can interact with fictional characters, developing plots and personalities for webtoons and web novels. Tooning Magic allows users to generate AI-created images from simple sketches, while Tooning Editor provides webtoon templates and visual elements for artists. NINEWATT is a startup focused on providing solutions to reduce energy consumption in buildings and has been selected as one of Korea's Green New Deal companies. Its team consists of researchers in construction engineering and environmental energy, project managers, developers and designers dedicated to delivering IT technology solutions that help its clients lower energy usage and electricity bills in buildings. Through its work, it aims to achieve carbon neutrality and contribute to addressing climate issues.

It is currently collaborating with a Japanese partner to conduct a proof of concept (PoC) for a smart city platform in one municipality, with participation from the local government and citizens.

Based on the PoC results, it plans to implement the project in real-life scenarios and expand into the Japanese market by engaging with additional local governments for further PoCs. It is also considering the development of B2G, B2B and B2C solutions, and will discuss business plans with its Japanese partner.

The XR revolution is on the horizon, with social media poised to transition into XR environments.

Users can effortlessly create their own 3D space — called Atoms — and share it with others in just three taps. Over 1,000 Atoms have been created on Adler, with artists from Ethiopia, Russia and Bangladesh actively participating on its platform.

Recognized for its potential, it has secured over 5 billion won ($3.7 million) in investments from retail investors and venture capitalists, including Kakao Investment and Korea Investment Partners, leading up to its bridge round. It is planning an IPO in 2028, targeting a market valuation of 1 trillion won.

Adler's founder, Yurica, transitioned at 26, finding her true self only in 3D games. Realizing that virtual reality provides a platform for individuals to embrace their authentic selves, she established Adler. The company’s name is inspired by the book Courage to Be Disliked, based on the theories of psychologist Alfred Adler.

Within the global 3D engine market, Adler focuses on lightweight engines. The market was valued at $3.4 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow to $8.4 billion by 2028. With the anticipated release of Apple Vision Pro in February 2024, the 3D market is expected to expand significantly.

While the 3D engine market is currently dominated by companies like Unity and Unreal, which offer heavy and slow engines primarily for simulations, Adler aims to carve out a niche for lightweight engines. It js developing a business model to sell its self-made engine, which it expects will positively impact the growing 3D engine market.

The Adler 3D engine sets itself apart from existing engines used in the metaverse. It enables users to experience extended reality in their daily lives via mobile, PC and smart devices through a web interface, without the need for additional devices or special connections. This core functionality allows users to expand reality with a single click — whether on a smart device, smartphone, or PC, across AR, VR or MR platforms.

Using the Adler 3D engine, it developed the social media platform also named Adler, allowing users to create their virtual spaces filled with images, videos, 3D items and background music of their choice. Users can explore virtual spaces through infinite scrolling, tapping on content they like and engaging with it. Its AI algorithm recommends content based on user interests.
