Universities are announcing international student tuition fees for the 2024 academic year, with some freezing fees and others hiking costs.

Chung-Ang University is raising tuition for international students enrolled in both undergraduate and graduate programs by 5 percent for the 2024 academic year.

The decision was made during a tuition review committee meeting, with minutes released Thursday. All attendees agreed to the change, with the graduate school representative agreeing on the condition that the additional tuition revenue be used toward programs for international students.

Tuition increases for domestic students are calculated separately and are set to be finalized at the next meeting, on Jan. 16.

Yonsei University announced it will freeze tuition for both its undergraduate and graduate students for the 2024 academic year. The decision applies to both domestic and international students at Yonsei.

One exemption will be the university's graduate school of economics, with tuition rising 2.8 percent on year.

Dankook University is considering a tuition freeze for the 2024 academic year with discussions of a freeze in 2025, according to meeting minutes released Thursday. It has yet to finalize a plan.
