I think INU (Incheon National University) is a very good university in Korea. There are five reasons.
First, INU has many great programs for foreign students.
1. Korean Language Class – The Office of International Affaire offers free Korean language classes to help international students at INU develop their Korean language skills.
2. Mentoring Program – The Mentoring Program is designed for incoming international students and domestic students of equivalent status with matching majors. The host students are required to help and assist the international students with academic difficult related to their common area of study. In addition, there are job support programs that teach you how to prepare documents for employment, how to prepare, and how to interview. And also there are Korean cultural experience programs such as going to amusement parks and making kimchi and so on. In 2021, there was a fun event related to “Squid Game”. I think that other Korean universities have various programs, but INU offers a variety of programs not only for Korean students but also for foreign students. As one of the foreign students, I was very impressed by that.
Second, the International Service Center (INU ISC) is very supportive. Thanks to INU ISC, I’m working as an intern at the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) now. It is difficult for foreign students to participate in internships in Korea, but I was able to do internships. I'm learning a lot from internships.
Third, the student dormitory of INU is comfortable. There are two kinds of dormitory. On-campus and off-campus (COSTAY). There are three dormitories, on-campus, but foreign students can live in the dormitory 1. And It's cheaper than off-campus.
Next, I will introduce about COSTAY. That was built recently and a lot of students live there. I also live in there. The facilities are very substantial. For example, the first and second floors are shared spaces, and many students study until late at night and you can drink complimentary coffee. In addition, there is a gym and also there is a kitchen and microwave on each floor. Moreover, each room has a refrigerator. I think that COSTAY is very comfortable.
