UNIVERSITY

If you are reading this, you are probably interested in doing your master’s degree at the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University but might me intimidated by the school’s reputation or might not even know where to start. Don’t worry, I had both – I didn’t know where to even start with my application and thought that my chances of getting into the best university of the country were very slim, but I did it and, trust me, so can you!

One of the most important things to keep in mind is that SNU has one of the earliest application times compared to other Korean Universities. It is the earliest out of the SKY universities, so you have to keep an eye on the website and prepare your documents early! Especially if you are from a country which takes a long time issuing. I for example had a lot of issues of getting my documents, getting them notarized and apostilled in time because Germany takes notoriously long for such processes. I ended up having to drive to Stuttgart to the Apostille office to be able to apply to SNU.

I applied for the fall semester, so I had to send in my application form and the required documents in February and March.

This is a timetable of the important admission dates.

Also here is a list of the required documents that I needed but definitely check the updated list on the website since they changed some things recently. Application form
